VardyJamie Vardy has been likened to Dutch legend Marco van Basten following his stunning strike against Liverpool.The Leicester City frontman enhanced his growing reputation with a 30-yard shot that flew past Simon Mignolet in the Reds net on Tuesday.It was the first of two goals for the England international in a 2-0 win.Speaking to media ahead of tomorrow’s clash with Manchester City, Leicester boss Claudio Ranieri said it was as good as anything Van Basten managed.“It’s amazing,” reflected Ranieri when asked about Vardy’s goal. “You can put him with Van Basten.”Van Basten scored some amazing goals in his career, including one against the USSR in the final of the 1988 European Championships.Running away from goal and towards the byline on the right-hand side of the penalty area, he showed amazing technique and awareness to fire a volley over Russian goalkeeper Rinat Dasayev from a tight angle.The strike helped give the Netherlands a 2-0 win in the final.
