If you are like me, you try to eat healthily. A good breakfast, filling lunch, light dinner, drink lots of water. Your body is in tune and you are happy with the way you feel. Except for the between-meal munchies. No matter how heavy the breakfast, most of us find ourselves reaching for something to chew before and even after lunch. Unfortunately, there is a wide selection of carb-filled unhealthy deep-fried foods to choose from. There is another way to snack and still be healthy. This can be achieved by deliberate, careful snack choices like:
NUTS
Instead of a meat pie, a good helping of groundnuts, cashew nuts, and tiger nuts are the healthier options. They are filled with Omega fatty acids that are good for you, and they contain enough calories to be filling. They will surely tide you over until lunch.
FRUITS AND VEGETABLES
Fruits are a great source of vitamins, and so are vegetables. Snacking on carrots, celery, cucumbers, apricots, pineapples and other fruits. They have bulk, which can fill you up until the next meal, and have the added advantage of being filled with nutrients that will pep you up for the rest of the day.
HARD-BOILED EGG
Need a mid-morning snack? One boiled egg can fill you right up! Not just with strength and vitality, but also with amino acids that help your body to build muscle instead of fat. So, next time you have a craving, grab a couple of hard-boiled eggs and enjoy.
